Destination: The Rebellion Brewery, Marlow
LEGC Personnel: Club founders, Messrs Dunn and Davis
After a showery afternoon the rain cleared for a pleasant ride into Marlow along the B482. The road was damp, but no standing water. Leaving at 7.30pm, the ride was in darkness, although vision was aided by a very bright moon and our Cateye lamps. Fluorescent jackets were also worn. The Rebellion Brewery, based in Marlow holds club nights in which you can sample all their beers. LEGC favourites were: Secret Agent (a seasonal ale with a light flowery scent and a delicate flavour) and the more robust Red. The ride back was never going to be easy because of the steep gradient back to Lane End. We decided to take the gentler climb of the Frieth Road, which passes the Royal Oak in Bovingdon Green. The climb was not unduly strenuous and we made Lane End by 11ish.
